Where is the Record Room located and what are our hours?
Maryland Heights Police Records is located in the police department lobby at 11911 Dorsett Road. We are here Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm. We can be reached by phone at 314-298-8706 or by email at recordroom@marylandheights.com.
How Do I File a Police Report?
To file a police report regarding an incident that occurred within the Maryland Heights city limits, you must respond in person to the Maryland Heights Police Department. Our department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please see the Communications window located in the police department lobby and an officer will respond to address any concerns.
How Do I Get a Copy of a Police Report?
Per the Missouri Sunshine Law, a request must be submitted in order to obtain any police report. The best way to do this is to respond in person to the Record Room window located in the police lobby. However, a request can also be submitted online at www.marylandheights.com. Under “Police”, select “Request a Copy of Police Report”. Please follow the on screen instructions.
-Reports are generally available in 5-7 business days from the date of the incident. Availability can take longer depending on the nature of the incident.
-All police reports are $6 and can be paid in the form of cash, check, or money order made payable to the City of Maryland Heights. We are not equipped to receive any online payments. We do not accept debit or credit.
Does the City of Maryland Heights offer Background Checks?
The Police Department can conduct background checks. Please note that we check for the City of Maryland Heights only. Any record found is based off an arrest with conviction. All background checks must be done in person and a valid government issued photo ID is required. There is a $5 fee to conduct a background check if there is no record. There is a $7 fee if there is a record. Fees can be paid by cash, check, or money order made payable to the City of Maryland Heights. We do not accept debit or credit. If a more in depth background check is needed, please contact St. Louis County Police Department or Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Does the City of Maryland Heights allow hunting?
The City of Maryland Heights does allow hunting in pre-approved areas. Pre-approved properties are given packets prior to the start of hunting season every year (September 1st). For properties that are not pre-approved and are annually reviewed, a letter must be submitted and signed by the property owner giving permission to hunt on said property. All firearm discharge applications must be turned into the police department to conduct firearm disqualification background checks. Hunting permits are $5 by cash, check, or money order made payable to the City of Maryland Heights. We do not accept debit or credit. How can I get my fingerprints taken?
Maryland Heights Police Department offers non-criminal fingerprinting by appointment only. Please call 314-298-8706 to schedule an appointment. All applicants must have a valid government issued photo ID present at the time of the appointment. There is a $7 fee per fingerprint card. Cash, check, or money order will be accepted as forms of payment made payable to the City of Maryland Heights. We do not accept debit or credit. All criminal fingerprints are scheduled by our Jailers. Please call 314-738-2392 to schedule an appointment.
Can the Police Department watch my residence while out of town?
Yes! The Maryland Heights Police Department offers free vacation checks within city limits to our residents. To request a vacation check, please access the city’s website at www.marylandheights.com. Under “Police”, select “Request a Home Security Vacation Check”. Follow all of the on screen instructions. Once submitted, this information will be provided to our officers to check your residence while out of town.
