Description :
The Mechanic performs semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative work in maintaining the city’s vehicles and mechanical equipment.
PAY RANGE: $27.83 per hour - $35.48 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out and evaluates preventive maintenance schedules for all vehicles and mechanical equipment, either personally, or through outside vendors; operates a variety of diagnostic instruments and a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools; tests, services and repairs vehicles and mechanical equipment; maintains garage area in accordance with City standards; other related duties as assigned.
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent, mechanical aptitude and at least three years of experience repairing and maintaining vehicles and construction equipment; a Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) is also required.
